Your Options

We seek to be advocates for women who are going through unplanned pregnancies in the Atlanta area. One of the most important things we do for our clients is inform them about all of their options regarding their unplanned pregnancy.

Before discussing these, you should consider having a free test done to determine if you are pregnant. If you already received a positive result from a test, the next step is to have an ultrasound exam. It it possible for you to have a positive test result and still not be pregnant. After your ultrasound screening then you have three options to consider:

Option 1: Abortion

If you’re consider an abortion, it’s important to know how far along you are in your pregnancy. This will determine what kind of abortion you need as well as how much it will cost. If you’re less than 10 weeks in your pregnancy, you qualify for a medication abortion (the abortion pill), which is less invasive than other surgical procedures. If you are 10 weeks or farther along, you will need a surgical abortion.

It’s also important to know there can be long-term health risks associated with abortion. If you’d like to talk with someone about this decision, please schedule an appointment today. We provide education so you can be fully informed.

Option 2: Adoption

Adoption is usually the choice people make who aren’t ready to be parents but who also don’t want an abortion. Thankfully, changes to perceptions about adoption have made this an easier process than it used to be, and the move towards open adoptions allows for birth moms to still be part of their children’s lives even if the children were adopted.

Option 3: Parenting

Parenting is the third option you have when considering how to proceed with your unplanned pregnancy. Many people choose this path even if they didn’t initially think they wanted to continue the pregnancy. We offer a variety of resources, classes, and mentorship to help you navigate this option.

There are many things to consider as you weigh your decision. We offer free and confidential options counseling to help make sure you have all the information you need before making your choice. Please reach out today to schedule your appointment if this would be helpful for you.
